Ingredients
Scale
Pizza Base
- 345 g Pillsbury Thin and Crispy Pizza Crust Dough (12 oz)
Toppings
- 200 g Crème fraîche (7 oz) (or ricotta)
- 200 g Parmesan cheese (7 oz) (grated)
- 1 Red onion
- 4 tbsp Fresh dill (chopped)
- 200 g Crème fraîche (7 oz) (or sour cream)
- 57 g Black or red lump-fish caviar (roe) (2 oz)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 250° C (482° F) to ensure it is hot enough for a crispy and perfectly cooked pizza crust.
- Prepare baking sheets: Line two sheet pans with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make it easier to transfer the pizzas.
- Roll out dough: Roll out each piece of the Pillsbury thin and crispy pizza dough evenly on the lined baking sheets to form the pizza base.
- Spread crème fraîche: Evenly spread 200 g of crème fraîche (or ricotta) over the rolled-out dough for a rich, creamy base layer.
- Add Parmesan cheese: Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly on top of the crème fraîche to add depth of flavor and a crispy, golden finish when baked.
- Bake the pizzas: Place the pizzas in the preheated oven and bake for 7-10 minutes until the cheese has melted and the dough is lightly golden and crispy.
- Cut into squares: Remove from the oven and cut the pizzas into approximately 30 bite-sized squares for easy serving and tasting.
- Add final toppings: Sprinkle finely chopped red onion and fresh dill over each square. Add a small dollop of crème fraîche on each piece, and finish with a delicate dab of black or red lump-fish caviar to provide that signature Swedish caviar flavor.
Notes
- You can substitute crème fraîche with ricotta or sour cream depending on availability.
- For best results, ensure the oven temperature is very high to achieve a crispy crust.
- The pizza is best served immediately after adding the caviar to enjoy the fresh flavors and texture contrast.
- If you prefer, you can use gluten-free pizza dough to make this recipe gluten-free.
- Adjust the amount of caviar to taste for a milder or stronger flavor impact.
