  • Author: Isabella
  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 2-3 servings 1x

Description

This Sheet Pan Steak and Veggies recipe is a simple and delicious one-pan meal that combines juicy top sirloin steaks with perfectly cooked baby potatoes, cherry tomatoes, and asparagus. Broiled to perfection, this dish delivers a flavorful and balanced dinner with minimal cleanup.

Ingredients

Scale

Steak

  • 23 top sirloin steaks, about 1 inch thick, patted dry
  • 1 teaspoon Montreal steak seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for baking sheet)

Vegetables

  • 1 cup baby potatoes, cut in half
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes
  • 1 bunch asparagus
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for vegetables)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to the broil setting and position the top rack where the steak will cook efficiently.
  2. Prepare the baking sheet: Lightly coat a baking sheet with 1 tablespoon of olive oil to prevent sticking and aid in cooking.
  3. Season and oil the vegetables: Toss the baby potatoes, cherry tomatoes, and asparagus with the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil evenly to ensure they roast nicely.
  4. Season the steak and arrange on pan: Sprinkle Montreal steak seasoning over the steaks, then place the steaks in a single layer on the oiled baking sheet. Add the halved baby potatoes alongside.
  5. Broil first side: Place the baking sheet on the top oven rack under the broiler. Cook the steak and potatoes for about 4 to 5 minutes until the steak is nicely browned on one side.
  6. Flip steak and add remaining veggies: Remove the pan from the oven. Flip the steaks to the other side for even cooking. Add the asparagus and cherry tomatoes to the baking sheet around the steak and potatoes.
  7. Broil second side: Return the baking sheet to the oven and continue broiling for another 4 to 5 minutes, or until the steak reaches your preferred level of doneness and the vegetables are tender.
  8. Season and serve: Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve the steak and roasted vegetables immediately for a warm, flavorful meal.

Notes

  • For medium-rare steak, aim for about 8-10 minutes total broiling time; adjust accordingly for different doneness levels.
  • Make sure the steaks are patted dry to achieve a good sear and crust under the broiler.
  • Arrange vegetables in a single layer for even roasting; avoid overcrowding the pan.
  • Let the steak rest a few minutes after cooking for juicier results.
  • Use fresh Montreal steak seasoning or a blend of salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika as alternatives.
