  • Yield: 12 turkey cookies 1x

Description

These playful and festive Oreo Turkey Cookies are a fun and creative treat perfect for Thanksgiving or any fall celebration. Combining classic Oreo cookies with peanut butter cups, candy corn, candy eyes, and colorful M&Ms, these no-bake turkey-themed cookies are easy to assemble and sure to delight both kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

Scale

Cookies and Base

  • 12 Oreo Cookies
  • 3 Tablespoons vanilla frosting

Decorations

  • 12 mini peanut butter cups
  • 48 pieces candy corn
  • 24 candy eyes
  • 12 red M&Ms
  • 1 Tablespoon melted chocolate (for adhering decorations)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Oreo Cookies: Twist off the top of each Oreo cookie, separating the chocolate cookie side from the filling side. Arrange the bottom halves (with filling) on a tray in front of you for easy access.
  2. Attach Candy Corn Feathers: Pipe a small line of vanilla frosting across the top of each Oreo filling. Arrange 4 pieces of candy corn per cookie, placing them with the white tip down into the frosting line. Then pipe another line of frosting on top of the white ends of the candy corn, which will help secure the cookie tops later.
  3. Reassemble Cookies: Replace the Oreo cookie tops carefully onto the bases with frosting contact, pressing gently so the frosting holds the candy corn in place.
  4. Add Peanut Butter Cup Body: Unwrap the mini peanut butter cups and put a small dab of frosting on their base. Place each peanut butter cup in the bottom center of the Oreo cookie, pressing it onto the cookie gently to adhere.
  5. Attach Candy Eyes: Pipe tiny dots of frosting onto the peanut butter cups where the eyes will be placed, then carefully press two candy eyes onto each peanut butter cup.
  6. Create the Beak: Using either frosting or the melted chocolate, dip a red M&M and attach it to the peanut butter cup to serve as the turkey’s beak. Press gently and hold for a few seconds so it begins to set.
  7. Set Cookies: Place the assembled turkey cookies in the refrigerator and let them chill for 15-20 minutes to allow the frosting and chocolate to harden and secure all decorations in place.

Notes

  • Use vanilla frosting for best sticking and flavor contrast with the chocolate Oreos.
  • Be gentle when reassembling the Oreos to avoid breaking the cookies.
  • If you prefer, substitute the mini peanut butter cups with any small round chocolate candies for a nut-free option.
  • Keep cookies refrigerated until serving to maintain decoration integrity.
  • These cookies are best enjoyed within 2-3 days for freshness.
