Ingredients
Scale
Cookie Base
- 1 package (14.3 oz) Oreo cookies (about 36 cookies)
Filling
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1–2 tsp Irish cream liqueur (like Baileys) – optional for adults, or substitute with 1 tsp vanilla extract for a non-alcoholic version
Coating & Decoration
- 12 oz green candy melts (or white chocolate with green food coloring)
- Assorted green, white, and orange sprinkles for decoration
Instructions
- Make the Oreo Truffle Mixture: Crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or a ziplock bag and rolling pin. Combine the crumbs with softened cream cheese and Irish cream liqueur or vanilla extract until a sticky dough forms. Chill the mixture for about 30 minutes to firm up.
- Shape the Truffles: Scoop tablespoons of the chilled mixture and roll each into a small ball. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Chill again in the fridge or freezer for 15-20 minutes to ensure the balls hold their shape during coating.
- Coat the Truffles: Melt the green candy melts in the microwave according to package instructions, stirring until smooth. If using white chocolate, add a few drops of green food coloring. Dip each chilled truffle ball into the melted coating, fully covering it, then place back on the parchment paper, tapping off excess coating.
- Add the Sprinkles: While the coating is still wet, decorate each truffle with green, white, and orange sprinkles for a festive appearance. Allow the truffles to set at room temperature or refrigerate until the coating hardens completely.
Notes
- For a non-alcoholic version, substitute Irish cream liqueur with 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
- Chilling the truffle mixture twice helps maintain shape and makes coating easier.
- Use a fork or dipping tool to avoid melting the coating with your hands.
- Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
- Decorate with festive sprinkles to enhance presentation and add texture.
