Ingredients
Scale
Bagel Dough
- 1 cup self-rising flour
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
Toppings (Optional)
- 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Bagel seasoning of choice (e.g., sesame seeds, everything bagel seasoning, poppy seeds)
Instructions
- Prepare the Air Fryer Basket: Spritz the air fryer basket with a nonstick spray or line it with perforated parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Mix the Dough: In a mixing bowl, combine the self-rising flour and Greek yogurt. Stir well until a ball of dough forms.
- Divide and Shape the Dough: Transfer the dough onto a floured surface, divide it into four equal pieces, and roll each into a ball.
- Form Bagels: Using your thumb, poke a hole through the center of each dough ball, then gently stretch and shape them into traditional bagel rings.
- Arrange in Basket: Place the shaped bagels evenly spaced in the prepared air fryer basket.
- Add Toppings: Brush the tops of the bagels with the beaten egg wash and sprinkle with your choice of bagel seasoning, if desired.
- Air Fry: Cook the bagels in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes or until they turn golden brown on top and are cooked through.
- Repeat and Serve: If your air fryer basket is small, cook bagels in batches. Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For a dairy-free version, substitute Greek yogurt with a dairy-free yogurt of similar consistency.
- If you don’t have self-rising flour, you can make your own by combining all-purpose flour with baking powder and salt.
- Ensure not to overcrowd the air fryer basket to allow even cooking.
- Bagel seasoning can be customized to your preference or omitted altogether.
- Egg wash is optional but helps achieve a shiny, golden crust.
