Ingredients
Scale
Edamame
- 10 ounces frozen edamame
- 1/4 cup water
Sauce & Seasoning
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- Flaky sea salt, for sprinkling
Instructions
- Steam the Edamame: In a medium-sized skillet, combine the frozen edamame and 1/4 cup water. Cover the skillet with a lid and steam the edamame over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes until heated through and tender. Remove the edamame from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
- Sauté Garlic: In the same skillet, add the olive oil and minced garlic. Sauté for 1 to 2 minutes until the garlic becomes fragrant and lightly golden, being careful not to burn it.
- Toss Edamame with Sauce: Return the steamed edamame to the skillet. Add the soy sauce and stir well to coat all the pods evenly in the garlic and soy mixture. Heat for an additional 1 minute to combine flavors.
- Serve: Transfer the garlic edamame to a serving bowl and sprinkle lightly with flaky sea salt. Serve warm as a flavorful snack or appetizer.
Notes
- Use frozen edamame with pods in shell for a snack; shell before eating.
- Adjust garlic quantity to taste for milder or stronger flavor.
- For a spicy twist, add a pinch of red pepper flakes while sautéing garlic.
- Make sure not to overcook garlic to avoid bitterness.
- Reserve some soy sauce to serve on the side if extra saltiness is desired.
