This rich and creamy Eggnog Fudge is a delightful holiday treat that combines the smooth sweetness of white chocolate with the nostalgic flavors of eggnog spices. Made with simple ingredients like white chocolate, sweetened condensed milk, butter, and festive extracts, this fudge is easy to prepare and perfect for gifting or enjoying at seasonal gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
Fudge Base
- 3 cups chopped white chocolate (from four 4-ounce baking bars, Ghirardelli brand recommended)
- 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature
Flavorings & Garnish
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon rum extract
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg, plus additional for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Pan. Line a straight-sided 8×8 inch pan with parchment paper, ensuring enough overhang on the sides to easily lift the fudge out once set.
- Melt Chocolate Mixture. In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the chopped white chocolate, sweetened condensed milk, and unsalted butter. Microwave on high for 1 minute, then stir. Continue heating in 30-second increments, stirring after each, until the chocolate is fully melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Add Flavorings. Stir in the vanilla extract, rum extract, and ground nutmeg until well combined into the fudge mixture.
- Transfer and Spread. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and spread it evenly. Tap the pan gently 1-2 times on the counter to release any trapped air bubbles.
- Garnish and Chill. Lightly sprinkle additional ground nutmeg on top for garnish if desired. Refrigerate the fudge for at least 2 hours, or up to overnight, until fully set.
- Slice and Serve. Once set, use the parchment paper overhang to lift the fudge from the pan. Slice into 1×1 inch pieces and serve at room temperature for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- For smooth melting, chop the white chocolate into uniform pieces before microwaving.
- Store leftover fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator to maintain freshness.
- Allow fudge pieces to come to room temperature before serving to enhance flavor and texture.
- You can substitute rum extract with bourbon or omit it for a non-alcoholic version.
- Use fresh ground nutmeg for the best aromatic flavor.
