Creamsicle Fudge Recipe

  • Author: Isabella
  • Total Time: 4 hours 15 minutes
  • Yield: 64 squares 1x

Description

This Creamsicle Fudge recipe combines creamy white chocolate with a bright, citrusy orange flavor to create a delightful, swirled treat reminiscent of the classic creamsicle ice cream. Easy to make and perfect for gifting or enjoying as a sweet snack, this fudge features a smooth texture with an eye-catching orange and white swirl.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 32 ounces white chocolate baking bars (8 bars, 4 ounces each)
  • 28 ounces sweetened condensed milk (two 14-ounce cans)
  • 8 tablespoons butter, cut into 8 pats
  • 4 teaspoons orange extract
  • 6 drops orange gel food coloring (or a mix of yellow and red gel food coloring)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pan: Line an 8×8 inch pan with foil and spray it with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Melt the fudge base: In a medium bowl, combine the white chocolate bars, sweetened condensed milk, and butter. Microwave on high for 1 minute, then stir. Continue microwaving in 30-second intervals, stirring each time, until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  3. Add orange flavor: Stir in the orange extract and taste. Add more extract if you desire a stronger orange flavor.
  4. Separate the mixture: Remove 2 cups of the white chocolate mixture into a separate bowl; this portion will remain white.
  5. Color the remaining mixture: Add orange gel food coloring to the remaining fudge mixture, mixing well. Adjust the coloring to achieve a vibrant orange shade.
  6. Layer the fudge: Pour the orange-colored fudge into the prepared pan and smooth it evenly.
  7. Add white dollops: Spoon the white fudge randomly over the orange layer.
  8. Swirl the fudge: Use a knife or wooden skewer to create swirled patterns by gently dragging through the layers.
  9. Remove air bubbles: Tap the pan on the counter a few times to eliminate air bubbles. Pop any large bubbles with a toothpick if necessary.
  10. Chill to set: Refrigerate the fudge, uncovered, for 4 to 5 hours until firm.
  11. Cut and serve: Lift the fudge out of the pan using the foil, peel it off, then cut the fudge into squares and serve.

Notes

  • Use gel food coloring for vibrant colors without altering the fudge texture.
  • Be sure to microwave in short bursts and stir to avoid burning the chocolate.
  • Adjust orange extract to taste for a more or less pronounced flavor.
  • Fudge can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
  • Allow the fudge to come to room temperature for a few minutes before serving for the best texture.
