Ingredients

  • 8 ounces block quality feta, drained
  • 3/4 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, (more as needed)
  • 1 teaspoon Aleppo pepper, (or red pepper flakes to your taste)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh mint
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 2-3 tablespoons toasted pine nuts, (optional)
  • 1-2 tablespoons crushed pistachios, (optional)

Instructions

  1. Step 1: In the bowl of a large food processor fitted with a blade, combine the feta, Greek yogurt, and lemon zest. Blend, and while the processor is running, drizzle olive oil through the top opening until the feta is whipped to a smooth mixture.
  2. Step 2: Transfer the whipped feta to a serving plate. With the back of your spoon, smooth the top of the feta, making an indentation in the middle (or a “well”). Pour a bit of olive oil all over the feta, then top with Aleppo pepper, fresh herbs, and nuts.
  3. Step 3: Serve with pita chips or pita wedges for a delicious appetizer or snack.

Tips & Variations

  • For a nuttier flavor, toast the pine nuts just until golden before adding.
  • Use full-fat Greek yogurt for a richer dip, or substitute with labneh for extra creaminess.
  • Adjust the Aleppo pepper or red pepper flakes to control the spiciness.
  • Try adding a little garlic or a splash of lemon juice for extra zing.

Storage

Store leftover whipped feta dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Before serving again, stir gently and allow to come to room temperature for best texture. If needed, drizzle a little olive oil on top to refresh the appearance.

How to Serve

A colorful scalloped white plate holds several pieces of toasted pita bread cut into triangles, positioned in the top left section. On the right side of the plate, there is a thick layer of creamy white dip spread out in a smooth swirl pattern. The dip is topped with a generous drizzle of golden olive oil, scattered red chili flakes, chopped green herbs, and mixed toasted nuts including pine nuts and pistachios. Fresh green parsley and mint leaves are placed between the pita and the dip, adding a touch of bright green color. The dish is set on a white marbled surface.
